Notes from the President

It is such a joy seeing the new committee up and running, it is basically a young & dynamic committee, full of enthusiasm & spirit. I am more than sure that this committee will be able to serve the members of our club diligently and with flair.

Talking about committees, I would like to thank the past Committee for its time and effort that they put in. Mike McCarthy, thank you for being our anchor & for keeping the ship steady. To Mike Huber & John Pfaff, thank you for the many good years of service that you both put in for your members & finally a very big thank you to Ronald Phillipson for the wonderful work that he put into the social side of the club.

The festive season is nearly upon us & once again we will be experiencing the challenges of parking, launching of boats and a busy bar & restaurant. I would like to appeal to all members to adhere to the rules & regulations of the club over this busy time & let’s not forget the time of the year & l appeal to members to respect one another.

One of the upcoming highlights over the festive season is the Cob Derby & I have heard that one of the prizes is a boat!!! The boating section is pulling out all the stops to make this the best Cob Derby ever. We wish them all the best & we would ask our members to please park outside the premises on the day.

I am sure that the annual “Round the Island Yacht Race “ will take place & we wish all the sailing section members a wonderful festive season & let the weather be kind to you.!!!

Regarding the diving section, for our visitors who would like to tie into our club dives, please feel free to contact our Rear Commodore Diving, Paul Tennant or Eddie Creed. Their contact details are on the Notice board.

The social section is going from strength to strength and there will be an Old Years eve party and once again parking will be limited. However parking places inside the club will once again be sold for R125 per parking bay

Once again, to all our upcountry members who will be joining us shortly; our thoughts and prayers are with you & may you have a safe journey to our wonderful part of the world

Finally to each and every club member as well as our staff & Restaurant crew, have a blessed Festive season, filled with the spirit of joy.
