The social section of the MBYBC’s aim and purpose is just what it says – to be social and have a bit of fun!
Many of our members don’t sail, dive, fish or kayak, but rather enjoy being part of a club, where they can make use of the facilities and get together to let their hair down.
Whether you enjoy a braai, picnic, meal at the resturant, round of bingo, sundowners of the deck, dancing, lucky draw, pool competitions, quiz nights or watching your kids play on the jungle gym – we have something to offer.
MBYBC Kid’s Care Babysitting – We will be offering a babysitting service on Friday nights between 6 pm – 10 pm and on special occasions. The kids will be entertained in a secure environment with a movie and activities while mom and dad can enjoy the fun upstairs. This service needs to be pre-booked (if there are no bookings – there will be no sitters available) at the office before Friday morning 10 am. Cost R50 per child.
Dear members and friends of the MBYBC, We have come to the end of the “silly season” in Mossel Bay and we have had a chance to look back at the season to see how it has gone. The opening cruise was held on the 12th of September and was very well attended. The club was open to the public as usual and we received a lot of visitors on the day. Wind and sea conditions kept a lot of the younger less experienced sailors off the water but safety is as always the major consideration. The different sections are fairly active and the onset of summer and the good waeather of late is enticing members to spend time at the club. We will be discussing the upcoming season at the main committee meeting and will be setting…Details
13 September 2015, early morning: How will the weather going to be? Do we have the flag dressing handy? Is the yacht neat and tidy? How many others will attend to the sail past? – It is always the same … attending to the opening cruise feels like unwrapping a big birthday present. Maybe not for the grey sea bears anymore, but for newbie’s like us, especially if it is the very first time with our own keelboat “Therese”. Unfortunately the wind wasn’t on our side. It blew with around 21 knots from SE, and because of we can’t reef…Details
